Welcome and thank you for accessing the web site of Adirondack Rock and River Guide Service, Inc! We’re a full service facility that offers lodging as well as guiding services to the general public. We’ve been operating since 1988, are headquartered in the heart of the Adirondack high peaks and are the only AMGA accredited guide service based solely in the region.

Our Lodging consists of two Adirondack style lodges that are located in a secluded mountain valley at the end of a country road. Surrounded by state owned wilderness, excellent hiking, skiing, rock and ice climbing is easily accessible, right from our door! Most importantly, we operate year round and open our lodging facilities to everyone, not just our guided clients.

Rock and River’s guide service is the largest and most renowned within the region. Only licensed professionals (see Guide Resumes) that enjoy working with people and know the region intimately are employed as guides. Our Facilities are unmatched and include an indoor climbing wall, an artificial ice wall and, new in 2008, our own privately owned and operated ice climbing park!

The disciplines guided/taught are Rock Climbing, Ice climbing, Summer Mountaineering/Hiking and Winter Mountaineering. We also offer Group Instruction to institutional organizations (scouts, schools, camps, gyms etc.) as well as friends and families wishing to learn as a group.
