Guide Resumes

Bill Simes - Back to resumes

A former all-state track star from central New York, Simo graduated from high school in the mid ‘70s and shortly thereafter headed upstate for a few weeks of R and R in the mountains. Well, needless to say, he’s still here. Another of the original “local hardmen”, Bill’s best known for discovering and developing the regions most popular crag – the Beer Walls in 1981 (although he grins as he denies authorship of the cliffs unique title…). More apt to be seen on his motorcycle than the local cliffs these days, Simo still loves to guide and due to his warm, easy going personality, has developed quite a loyal following amongst the slightly graying, “over forty” crowd.
