Mark was born and raised in the Adirondacks and with his family, grew up hiking and skiing throughout the region. After trying climbing on the chimney at Rock and River when he was 10, climbing, and more specifically searching the woods for unclimbed cliffs, quickly became his passion. Having spent time traveling and climbing throughout the West, New Zealand and Peru, he returned home to his favorite mountains with a renewed appreciation for the wildness and high quality climbing the area affords. Trained and certified as an AMGA Rock Instructor, Leave No Trace Master Educator and Wilderness First Responder, Mark enjoys working with all types of people, proudly showing off the beauty of his “backyard” and occasionally sharing a few of his secret discoveries.
