Teen Camps

We offer these camps for teens (14 – 17) that are serious about learning to climb in a proper, responsible manner. What we’ve seen practiced in the field is downright scary! With this in mind, we’ve designed these clinics to be highly instructional with the establishment of a sound fundamental base being the primary goal. Our guides that lead these sessions are mature, seasoned veterans that know the region, the sport and enjoy working with youths.

These camps are recommended for teens with no experience, indoor wall experience only, or with some outdoor climbing experience. The students spend all five days on the rock, beginning with several top roped climbs and advancing to longer, more exposed, multi-pitch ascents. The camps convene on Sunday afternoon and wrap up Friday evening. The students are housed all five nights in our Climber’s Lodge complete with full adult supervision, a kitchen, climbing wall and plenty of “hang out” space. Evenings are spent practicing skills on our indoor wall, watching slide show presentations and for one fun night, heading into Lake Placid for pizza and a movie.

We offer female camps (with female instructors) and limit the number of participants to eight to ensure the safety and quality of the experience. With our cushy facilities, excellent climbing location and professional staff, we can’t think of a higher end introductory offering anywhere…
