Secluded Location, Open Fields and Mountain Views…
Because of our secluded location, open fields and mountain views, we are continually asked if we’ll allow weddings on our premises. While we remind people that we’re not a wedding facility, we love hosting small (75 people max.), relaxed, self-administered events (we provide advice, a list of caterers, bands, tent companies etc. but our involvement beyond that is minimal).
Most previous weddings held at Rock and River have been fun, intimate, highly successful affairs. Often, the wedding ceremony is performed in a clearing down by our stream with the reception following in one of our fields, under a tent (complete with band, dance floor and lights). Late summer and fall have been the most popular seasons for wedding weekends yet spring and even winter events have been known to occur here.
While each wedding is unique and we pride ourselves on being flexible, a general list of rates and requirements follows:
Weekend weddings require rental of our entire facility (Climber’s Lodge and Guide’s House) for a minimum of two nights – $1200/night plus tax of 11% and gratuity of 10%. These buildings can sleep a total of twenty-seven people.
An additional site usage fee is levied as follows:
- for weddings of less than 50 people – $1500
- for weddings of more than 50 people – $2000
Meals are not included and normally are the responsibility of the wedding party. In addition, the wedding party is responsible for all clean up of grounds and replacement of property missing, broken or destroyed.
Family reunions, business retreats, Holiday parties, and more…
In addition to weddings, we’ve hosted numerous special events at Rock and River. These include family reunions, business meetings/workshops, Christmas parties as well as our personal favorite – surprise anniversaries, retirements or birthday parties. With several large rooms, fields, and mountainous location, these events are unique and sure to be memorable!
